15th July 2008 - Stinson Memorial Park - Beaudesert District, Queensland

Adjacent to Christmas Creek, this park is about 28k South East of Laravale on Christmas Creek Road. The park is dedicated to commemorate the loss of an aircraft the “City of Brisbane” on the 19th February 1937 which was located by Bernard O’Reilly. The park was the base of operations for the rescue party.

Today, the park offers good camping facilities with septic toilets, free gas BBQ’s, plenty of water, shelter sheds, fire places and level well grassed camp sites adjacent to Christmas Creek. Another good spot on a “no through road” that we recommend for a quiet stay.
