27th September 2008 - Caliguel Lagoon - 7k South West Condamine - Queensland

This riverside camping area is located on the Meandarra / Condamine Road and has excellent facilities. A large level well shaded camping site with septic toilets, tank water, shelter sheds, BBQ’s, cold shower, boat launching ramp, fishing, bins and a swimming beach are all on this back road that is sealed and runs between Meandarra and Condamine. After the long haul from Meandarra, (30k), we decided to spend a few days at this delightful spot. Highly recommended if in the area.

9th June 2007 - Nindigully Pub - 45k South East of St. George, Qld.

This typical country pub has the best meals that you could possible buy at a pub. The counter-lunch Steak Sandwiches with chips fill a large square plate and will satisfy the most famished traveller & all this for $11.50

The atmosphere in the pub is electric with friendly staff who serve with a smile. If stopping overnight, there is a free camping area beside the Moonie River and the pub provides free hot showers and toilets. We recommend this venue for at least one night to enjoy the goodwill the hotel has to offer.

29th May 2007 - Surat - Between Roma & St. George, Qld

Surat Fishing & Restocking Club Park located just north of the bridge across the Balonne River at Surat is an excellent place to rest and recover when travelling north to the tropics or returning home at the end of winter. Toilets, plenty of shade, a large camping area with shelter sheds and tables together with fireplaces are all there for the traveller. On the opposite side of the road is a large picnic area and a boat ramp. Across the bridge in the township are free showers at the Shire Hall & Recreation Ground. To enjoy all these facilities, a donation is request and a donation box is located outside the toilet block. Please support the club and assist in restocking the river with fingerlings.
