22nd April 2007 - Cecil Plains Apex Park, Qld.

The Apex Park at Cecil Plains is located approximately 1k east of the centre of town on the Toowoomba to Cecil Plains Road, beside the Condamine River. The park has septic toilets, BBQ’s, a shelter shed, bins and is suitable for all vehicles. Some shade trees surround the area and provide some shade during the day. During our visit during the drought, the river was completely dry except for a few holes that contained the last few fish that are able to survive. Downstream of the bridge was void of all water. Adjacent to the Cecil Plains Homestead, the area provided a welcome break after our long drive of 80k from Millmerran. The town has a general store, post office, pub, and a caravan park for those who prefer the luxuries of powered sites and hot showers. There is also a swimming pool in town to cool off in during the hottest times.
